3. Signing in with Google or Microsoft
Instinct offers single sign-on (SSO) through Google and Microsoft. When you choose to sign in with one of these providers, we receive a limited set of profile information for the sole purpose of authenticating you and creating your Instinct account:
- a unique account identifier issued by the provider;
- your email address (and whether the provider has verified it);
- your display name; and
- where Google provides it, your profile picture.
We request only basic sign-in scopes — openid, email, and profile (for Microsoft we additionally request User.Read, to read your own basic profile, and offline_access, to keep your session active). We do not request, receive, or store access to your email, files, calendar, contacts, or any other content in your Google or Microsoft account, and we never use this information for advertising.
We use this sign-in information only to provide and secure the authentication feature of the Instinct application. We retain it for as long as your account is active and delete it when your account is closed. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties except service providers who help us operate the application or where required by law.
Instinct's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Our handling of information received from Microsoft follows the equivalent principles.
You can revoke Instinct's access to your account at any time:
- Google: myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Microsoft: myapps.microsoft.com
